Message from MacKenzie

Experiencing unexplained sources of anxiety, and not understanding our own feelings, behaviors, and our own sense of identity, can be really scary and frustrating.

Many children and teens who may be struggling with these things are not able to understand or effectively communicate their feelings to their parents, which often leads to big emotions and aggression toward others.

Considering therapy for your loved one can be a difficult and vulnerable process, but I believe that finding a real and genuine connection with the right therapist allows healing to begin.

Which is why I create a safe space to help children and adolescents manage their anxiety and depression, explore their sense of self, and overcome barriers in family communication.

Here’s how you or your child can get started with counseling today.

First, click on the “Schedule Appointment” button and fill out the new client appointment form.

Second, someone on our team will reach out to you to book your first appointment.

Third, together we’ll create specific goals to support you and begin the counseling process.

If you are an overwhelmed parent of a child or adolescent who is experiencing things like anxiety, symptoms of depression, anger, explosive emotion, and identity confusion, or you yourself are struggling to understand your own thoughts, feelings, or identity, I may be the right fit for you.

Schedule an appointment today.

How To Manage Your Strong-Willed Child

Strong-willed children are a gift. They possess many qualities that will help them later in life, including knowing what they want, and a determination to get it. However, these great qualities can also occasionally make them difficult to manage at home, which may make you feel frustrated and overwhelmed.

Understanding LGBTQ Terminology

Your child has just come out to you, and you want to be loving and supportive, but you aren’t exactly sure what they’ve just told you.  And you might be feeling confused about what some of these terms mean.

“MacKenzie helped me get through one of the most difficult periods of my life.”
