Message From Melody

Hi! My name is Melody and I’m a therapist here at Cedar Tree Counseling. It can take a lot of courage to go to therapy. But by beginning the search, you’ve already taken the first step toward greater wholeness and becoming the person you want to be.

In my practice, I believe in tailoring my approach to individual clients by taking the necessary time and providing the empathic space that facilitates your self-discovery and the pursuit of your mental health goals. I use various evidence-based treatments and techniques. Some of these include narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I pair practical skills and resources with curiosity toward the deeper patterns and narratives that may be having an unwanted impact in your life.

I work with people of many ages, experiences, and walks of life. From children struggling with emotional regulation or family transition to adults facing anxiety, OCD, or loss. My goal is to be a journey partner providing holistic support and genuine connection. If desired, I’m also able to incorporate faith into our therapeutic work. I am here to provide a safe environment where you can feel empowered to face those daunting elements of your story, find hope and healing, and discover the beauty that remains.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors in nature, reading, and spending time with friends, family, and my cat Pippa. I’m a huge fan of Mary Oliver’s poetry and her example of holding together life’s deep questions with its beauty informs so much of how I show up as a therapist.

Right now, I am offering services exclusively through telehealth to children over 12, teens, and adults. If you’d like to take the next step, you can fill out the new client intake form. I’d be honored to work with you.

We provide trauma-informed counseling in a safe and collaborative space to those

seeking healing and deeper connection to self and others.
