Life is full of challenges. You may find yourself facing these challenges with strategies that no longer fit the stage of life you’re in. Perhaps your child has become withdrawn or overwhelmed at school. Your adolescent may be experiencing mood changes, struggle with anxiety, or difficulty explaining what is happening inside. As a parent, you may notice these changes and wonder how to help. When what has been done no longer works, it may be time to seek help.
I’m Frances González, and I’m here to provide children, adolescents, and families with the tools and support they need. My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based interventions. I lead with warmth, curiosity, humility, and compassion, and I work to provide a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and seen.
In my worldview, the whole person is important: your physical body, thoughts, emotions, spirituality, culture and external factors. All of these provide context for what makes you who you are, so I take these pieces into consideration throughout the process of therapy. As someone born and raised outside the United States, I understand the importance of cultural awareness. I am a bilingual therapist, and I am excited to work with English and Spanish speaking clients. Additionally, when welcomed by the client, I can incorporate faith into the treatment process in a respectful and clinically appropriate way.
So, you may feel uncertain about starting therapy. I understand; the unknown can feel scary! Still, one small step in a different direction can begin the healing process. The courage you show today can help create a different tomorrow. I would be honored to walk alongside you and your family.
Let’s talk. ¡Te espero!
